A green city center - BAF - Biotope area factor
Situation
A high density of construction and great environmental impact characterize the city center in particular. Land that experiences high use is often severely limited in its function by:
- a high degree of soil sealing,
- inadequate replenishment of the groundwater, due to the rapid runoff of rainfall into the sewage system,
- lack of humidity and excess warming,
- a constant decrease in the plant and animal habitat, due to inadequate green space.
Modern cities require new ideas in order to compensate for deficits in open space in highly concentrated city districts and to thereby reduce the impact on the environment.
