Information on the processing of personal data at the Geoportal Berlin (FIS Broker)

  1. Overview of processing activity
    Your personal data connected to the use of the Berlin Spatial Data Infrastructure (GDI-BE) services at the Berlin Geoportal/ FIS Broker is processed by the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing by storing your IP address. No further personal data is collected beyond that. With this data protection notice, the Senate Department would like to inform you below about the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  4. Purposes and legal basis of the processing
    4a) Purposes of the processing:
    In order to ensure the smooth running of the Geoportal, the IP address of your computer will be recorded automatically when you utilise the Geoportal. This is to prevent the Geoportal’s services being disrupted by automated mass enquiries sent by individual computers. Independent from the Geoportal, the IP address of your computer will be recorded for the same purposes if you access any of our web services (WMS, WFS, CSW, ATOM) available through our Spatial Data Infrastructure. In combination with the IP address of the requesting computer, the request sent to the servers of the Senate Administration for Urban Development and Housing as well as the time of request are recorded.

    4b) Legal basis of the processing:
    Your data will be processed on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1, point (e) GDPR.

  5. Recipients or categories of recipients of your personal data
    Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties.

  6. Disclosing personal data to third countries
    Your personal data will not be passed on to third countries.

  7. Duration of the storage of your personal data
    Once your data has been collected, it will not be stored beyond the end of the calendar year following the date of collection.

  8. Rights of the data subject
    According to the General Data Protection Regulation you have the following rights:
    If your personal data is processed, you have the right to obtain information on the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).

    You have the right to obtain the rectification of any inaccurate personal data processed (Art. 16 GDPR).

    If the legal requirements are met, you can request the erasure or restriction of processing and object to the processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR).

    Should you exercise the rights mentioned above, the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing will verify whether the relevant legal requirements are met.

  9. Right to withdraw your consent
    If you consented to the processing by the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing by means of the relevant declaration, you can withdraw your consent at any time for the future. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data based on consent before its withdrawal.

  10. Right to lodge a complaint
    Every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if the data subject considers that their personal data is processed unlawfully.
