Main focuses:

  • Possibilities of structural changes in urban areas to reduce traffic volume by, for instance, installing traffic-preventing settlement structures, avoidance of uncontrolled sub-urbanisation processes and approaches for a reduction of private car traffic in city centres
  • Suggestions for an acceleration, intergration and quality enhancement of public transport and proposals on how to combine it with bicycle use.
  • New concepts for the goods transport sector (transport by rail and/or waterways), improvement of the organisational and logistic management of road transport and evaluation of the necessity of decentralised goods distribution centres
  • Improvement of parking space management including on-street parking controls, better control of traffic and parking management for tourist buses
  • Rehabilitation of areas degraded by traffic and transport
